Setting off from Kirkby Stephen Hostel, the route heads south, meeting the River Eden after a mile and following it for 4 more.

Rising gently and passing Wharton Hall, Lammerside Castle and Pendragon Castle before joining the Pennine Bridleway. There it climbs west, rising 250meteres, between The Nab and Little Fell before dropping down to Stennerskeugh.

After a few hundred metres on the A683 the route finishes on a B-road heading straight to the comfort of Fell End Bunkhouse and time watch the setting sun illuminating the mighty Wild Boar Fell.
